Team India are one of the most successful teams in the ODI format. The Men in Blue have won two ODI World Cup titles so far. India won the first ODI title under the captaincy of Kapil Dev in 1983. India beat the West Indies in the final showdown to win their maiden title.
28 years later, India beat Sri Lanka in the final to win the second ODI World Cup. Since 2011, India failed to make a bid for the third title. However, it will be a great opportunity for them to go all the way to win the third ODI World Cup this time around.
The upcoming World Cup is going to be held entirely in India for the first time. India will begin their campaign on October 8 as they will take on Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
