Sri Lankan national cricket team immensely benefitted from the valuable services of batting greats such as Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan. These players have often led the batting attack by example and helped the team get the job done.

1. Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara
Sri Lanka’s batting greats namely Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene were the pillars of Sri Lanka’s batting line-up during their successful careers. The duo caused all sorts of problems for the opposition by constructing valuable partnerships together across formats.
They come first on the list as they added 5992 partnership runs in One-Day Internationals, which is also the second-highest by any pair in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar-Sourav Ganguly’s 8227 partnership runs.

2. Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara
Sri Lanka benefitted from the work rate of both Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara in One-Day Internationals. The duo added plenty of runs together and build many viral partnerships which helped the team by all means.
Dilshan and Sangakkara stitched together 5475 runs in ODIs, which is the third-highest by any pair in the history of ODIs and the second-highest partnership runs by a batting pair in Sri Lankan cricket.
3. Marvan Atapatu and Sanath Jayasuriya
The likes of Marvan Atapatu and Sanath Jayasuriya come third on the list as they added 5462 runs together while playing for the Sri Lankan cricket team in One-Day Internationals.
Both of them stitched many valuable partnerships together and they were the third Sri Lankan pair to complete 5000 runs together in ODIs after Jayawardene-Sangakkara and Dilsha-Sangakkara.
