Losing an ICC final literally feels like receiving a dagger in the hearts of the losing team. In a tournament, only the two best teams make it to the final. The team that performs well in clutch moments is destined to win the final.

While losing an ICC final can be immensely frustrating, some players have lost multiple finals. India are yet to end their ICC title drought. The last time India won the ICC trophy was back in 2013 when they beat England in England to win the Champions Trophy.

It’s been a decade since they won the ICC title. Case in point, let’s get to know more about the four Indian players who lost the most ICC finals in their careers.

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is one of the Indian players who has lost four ICC finals (T20 World Cup 2014, Champions Trophy 2017, World Test Championship 2021 and World Test Championship 2023) in his career. On the bright side, he has won the T20 World Cup 2007 and the Champions Trophy 2013 in his career.

2. Virat Kohli

The former Indian skipper is one of the Indian cricketers who has been a part of the most lost ICC finals (T20 World Cup 2014, Champions Trophy 2017, World Test Championship 2021 and World Test Championship 2023) in his career. Notably, he has won ICC ODI World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

Notably, he took the most wickets for India at the tournament and deservedly clinched the golden ball.
