5 Indians with Most 4-Fers in ODI World Cup history-compressed

Team India are one of the most successful teams in the history of the ODI World Cup. They have won two ODI World Cup titles so far. The Men in Blue won their first title under the captaincy of Kapil Dev as they beat the mighty West Indies in 1983 to win their first title.

India went on to script history again by winning the second title under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. The Men in Blue beat Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final to clinch the major honour. India have a great chance to make a bid for the third title this time around since the tournament is going to be held entirely in India for the first time.

Case in point, most of the time, batters get credit for their performances but that hasn’t been the same case when it comes to the bowlers. Just like batting, bowling is equally important as well. Now, in this article, we will go through the names of five Indians with the most four-wicket-hauls in ODI World Cup history.

1. Mohammed Shami

India’s veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been the linchpin of the team’s bowling attack for many years now. He tops the list as he has bagged 4-wicket hauls, the most by an Indian bowler in the ODI World Cup history.

3. Javagal Srinath

Javagal Srinath is the leading wicket-taking fast bowler in the history of Indian cricket with 315 wickets. He has also taken 2 four-wicket hauls in the ODI World Cup history.

4. Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav is known for his ability to bowl at a brisk pace and has troubled the batsmen on several occasions with his swift bowling. He has bagged 2 four-wicket hauls in the ODI World Cup history.

5. Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh was named the Player of the Tournament in 2011 ODI World Cup for scoring 362 runs and taking 15 wickets. The former all-rounder took 2 four-wicket hauls in the ODI World Cup history.
