Rohit Sharma, the current captain of India in the white-ball format of the game, has been facing a lot of criticism on social media for some of his unplanned decisions. Parthiv Patel also questioned the captain’s strategy by indicating the use of Mohammad Siraj’s spell in the game. India faced a defeat by a small margin of 28 runs in the first Test match against England in Hyderabad on Monday, which gave rise to several questions.
Siraj was not given many overs to bowl
The major question that arose was the very limited use of one of the best wicket-taking bowlers of the side, i.e., Mohammad Siraj. He was given only 11 overs to bowl in the entire game, due to which he could not get the required rhythm and remained wicketless in the end.
On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah, who bowled 24.4 overs in the match, successfully clinched six wickets. Many cricket experts are saying if they could have given a good spell to Mohaamd Siraj, then England would not have touched the 400-run mark in their second innings, and eventually India would have chased the target with ease.
India missed the presence of “ The Run Machine” in the First Test
Due to some personal reasons, India’s prime batter and the former captain of the side, Virat Kohli, is not available for the first two matches of the series.
In the first Test, when India was chasing the target and lost their first few wickets in the very initial overs, everyone inside and outside the field missed the presence of the chase master, ‘Kohli’, as he is known as one of the finest and most successful batters during the run-chase. India was continuously losing wickets, and no one could transform the phase of the game by building some good partnerships.
The Second Test will commence on February 2nd
The second Test will be played from February 2 to February 6 in Visakhapatnam, and the Indian side will be on the field to level the series after slightly missing the victory in the first Test. Rohit Sharma is also gearing up with new strategies to tackle the visitors in the upcoming clash, while Virat Kohli is expected to join the side in the third-test match.
