The debate for Sanju Samson being included in the Indian cricket squad as a regular has now been heard over years. For the last three years particularly, people have been vocal about the fact that Sanju Samson is the ideal pick for the middle-order and with so many injury woes building ahead of the quadrennial extravaganza, it is now a war cry for a few fans that Sanju should be a part of the World Cup.
However, there is a new contest for Samson, rather an old one rekindling itself as KL Rahul is slowly getting into the groove and now as the contest gets sharper and sharper for the middle-order, the voice of the fans was questioned and then also explained that why KL Rahul is better than Sanju Samson by former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag.

The former Indian opener who had his own opinion about the Indian middle-order conundrum had his own reasons to believe that KL Rahul is the long-time solution for India’s batting woes, particularly the collapse that has happened over the year.

Talking on Cricbuzz, Virender Sehwag said, “KL Rahul is back in form. He scored runs in the previous match. Yes, his strike rate may not have met people’s expectations, but his form is a great sign. Rajasthan doesn’t have any other fast bowler apart from Trent Boult who has express pace or is very dangerous. They do have dangerous spinners, but if KL Rahul bats for long, he will surely take them apart.”

KL Rahul had his own woes in the middle, particularly with the opening slot where he started well but would soon fall out of favour as the pressure kept on mounting and no runs were coming up for the LSG skipper. However, when Australia came knocking, Rahul was right back in the hunt and scoring against the might of Australia and that too a pace unit that was spearheaded by Mitchell Starc.
