Riyan Parag has had a bumpy start to IPL 2023 and after quite a handful of chances missed, things are all over the place for the youngster who had a lot of promise at the start of the season, coming afresh from the Guwahati Premier League with so many awards following suit has somehow fizzled away into oblivion.
The Rajasthan Royals are engaged in a fierce battle with the Gujarat Titans on Friday night and as things stand they are pretty neck-deep in the choppy waters as the Titans have had them crumbling at 100 for the loss of 8 from their first 15 overs at the time of writing.

Over the past few matches, the Royals who have been pinning their hopes on Riyan Parag to deliver a gilt-edged performance, have been let down in several occasions and after seeing their belief being wasted, things have somehow been a major question mark for the hard-hitting youngster.
This is what Riyan Parag had to say about his resurgence
Trying to make amends so that he can make his way back to the team, he has been trying his very best to add further sheen to his performances in the net. There are times when a poor start can really get you off the hook and that is exactly where Parag is stuck.
In an interview he said, “Time to get back to basics for me. I spent some time with Zubin (Bharucha) sir, and haven’t missed practice even once in the last five days . (I’ve) Been doing long sessions and strengthening my basics. I’m trying to expand my hitting areas, I generally look to hit straight but now the focus is to try and hit all around the field. Want to keep more options available for me. It’s very simple for me, I want to win games for my side. Whenever I get a chance I’ll try to win a game for RR, because we have got 5 games left and we need to win three to finish top two.”
