The grand revelation took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The event showcased the entire kit range, including the main playing jersey training gear and attire for the coaching staff. This follows an earlier video released by Adidas, who are the official kids sponsor, featuring star players like Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja sporting the new kit at the HPCA stadium in Dharamshala.
The much-awaited jersey boasts a vibrant design with a dominant blue base, complemented by light orange sleeves. Two parallel orange stripes run along the waste, which are inspired by the classic 3 white stripes trademark of Adidas. The collar is also adorned with the tri-colour of the Indian flag, adding a patriotic touch.
The official launch by Adidas took place on my birthday, with the jersey hitting stores nationwide the next day. The tagline One Jersey, One Nation perfectly captures the spirit of unity and support for the Indian cricket team as they are starting their World Cup campaign.
The 2024 ICC T20 World Cup is going to start on June 1st, co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies. Team India is going to start their journey against Ireland, followed by a highly anticipated clash with archrival Pakistan on June 9th. Both India and Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside Ireland, the USA, and Canada.
This new kit marks a continuation of the partnership between BCCI and Adidas established through a multi-year contract signed in May 2023. Previously, MPL brand killer jeans held the kids sponsorship rights. Several cricket stars of India have already modeled the new colors, generating excitement among the fans.
With a strong squad recently announced and impressive recent form in T20I matches, India is going to enter the World Cup as a clear favorite. The team spirit and unending support from fans, embodied by the new jersey, will undoubtedly be a driving force in the quest for T20 World Cup glory.
