Fans in India couldn’t contain their excitement as they chipped in with interesting views and opinions. Meanwhile, Team India won the first ODI World Cup in 1983 when they beat the mighty West Indies to clinch the maiden title. They achieved the feat under the tutelage of legendary Kapil Dev and 28 years later, India won the second ODI World Cup honour under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Sri Lanka surrendered at the hands of Team India in the 2011 World Cup final showdown. Since then, India failed to make a bid for the third title and they have a great chance to win the third title. India will begin their World Cup campaign against the five-time World Cup champions, Australia on October 8 (Sunday) in Chennai.
