Former cricketer of Indian Cricket Team Navjot Singh Sidhu is ready to make his return to the commentary box with the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League 2024. Sidhu is going to be a part of the Star Sports broadcasting team as he is going to make his return to commentating duties after so many years. After an amazing career on the field, Sidhu became a big name in the broadcasting world of cricket in the role of commentator.
The official TV broadcasters of the Indian Premier League season 2024 Star Sports posted on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, to announce the grand return of Navjot Singh Sidhu to commentary. He is going to be on the mike during the season opener match between the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, which is going to be held at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
Sidhu was known for his witty one-liners and sharp insides during his previous tenure as a commentator, and now fans want him to replicate his old charm on the return. One of the fans wrote on X, “Navjot Singh Sidhu will be doing commentary for Star Sports in IPL 2024. The good old Sony days are back!” Another fan wrote, “Welcome back to commentary, Navjot Singh Sidhu.” One more fan wrote, “Oye guru ghoda kabhi maans nahin khata Sher kabhi ghaas nahin khata thoko taali and so on.”

The right-handed batsman of the Indian Cricket Team played for 15 years for India, from 1983 to 1998. In 51 test matches and 136 ODIs, the top-order batsman of India scored 3202 and 4413 runs, respectively, with 15 centuries and 48 half centuries to his name.
The broadcaster of TV Star Sports has already released the star-studded list of players who will be doing the commentating duties for them in the upcoming season of the IPL.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the schedule for the first two weeks of IPL 2024, which is going to start from March 22 to April 7. while the BCCI is also working together with local authorities to finalize the schedule for the remainder of the season while taking into consideration the 18th Lok Sabha election dates.
In the first two-week period, around 21 matches will be played in 10 cities. Each team is going to play a minimum three and maximum five matches. The defending champions and five-time winners Chennai Super Kings are going to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season opener match at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai on Friday.
