It was an iconic display of brilliance and grit from the young Harry Brook against the KKR as he smashed his maiden IPL century, also becoming one of those elite batters to have joined the list of other cricketing stalwarts and that too in his maiden IPL season. As soon as the youngster from England got a swashbuckling knock adorning his greenhorn exploits in the antiquity of the cash-rich league in India, things started changing for the better.
There were plaudits coming in from all ends as he rocked and rolled his way through a series of adversities, leaving the opposition in pain and agony. Out of the long list of cricketing pundits who rained praises upon the young English batter, one of them was the former Indian off-spinner who had a special history in Tests against the English willow-men, Harbhajan Singh.
Here is what Harbhajan Singh had to say about Harry Brook
Harbhajan Singh’s observation about Harry Brook that the youngster has a wide array of strikes in his arsenal and the man was willing to put all of those chiselled weapons to the test. However, dissecting Brook, Harbhajan also pointed out the rare chink in his arsenal, highlighting the fact that it would need something special for the bowlers to get to that jugular of Harry Brook.

Talking to Star Sports, Bhajji said, “Brook plays fast bowling well. He has an array of shots in his batting repertoire against fast bowlers. Although he isn’t very strong against spin, he hides his weakness by taking singles and doubles. Whenever he gets a chance, he hits the weak balls from the pacers for boundaries. Also, he is getting good support from other SRH batsmen. This will give him a lot of confidence going forward.”
This is how things look so far for the Orange Army
Sunrisers Hyderabad made a couple of important changes to their ranks as they chose to splurge in an incredulous manner for Brook and so far the results have been reaped. Also with a change in the captaincy, as Aiden Markram took over, it will be interesting to see how things change as the tournament progresses.
