This was the second offense of the team in this ongoing season; therefore, Hardik was slapped with a fine of Rs 24 lakh, whereas each member of the playing team got a fine of Rs 6 lakh as a penalty.
The Indian Premier League statement read, Mr. Hardik Pandya, who is the captain of the Mumbai Indians, has been fine after his team maintained a low over rate during the match 48 of the Indian Premier League season 2024 against Lucknow super joints at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee cricket stadium in Lucknow on April 30, 2024.”
The statement further added that this was the second friend of his team for the season 2024; therefore, under the IPL code of conduct, which is related to the minimum over-rate offense, Pandya got fined Rs 24 lakh.
The rest of the members of the playing 11, including the impact player, were fined either Rs 6 lakh or 25% of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.“
