Indian Premier League 2023 all-star batter Virat Kohli, at 34 years old, was at the top of his game as he scored a century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The former captain and Faf du Plessis (71 runs off 47 deliveries) put up a stunning partnership of 172 runs to lead RCB to an eight-wicket victory in their chase of 187 runs.
Harshal Patel, a bowler for the RCB, praised Kohli after the game for his “remarkable” energy and dedication to the game. Harshal also lauded Kohli’s timing and speed between the wickets, highlighting their importance in keeping the score moving.
Harshal said that when Virat Kohli starts scoring, he is very hard to stop. He stressed the fact that Virat is a great player because he plays normal orthodox shots and does not try anything fancy. Harshal was impressed by the way Kohli went about his business on a slowish pitch and played his shots. He insisted that Kohli relies on his timing and not his power-hitting ability.

Harshal also highlighted the fitness and energy that Virat Kohli possesses. Kohli has the ability to bat for 20 overs without breaking a sweat and also displays his energy during fielding. Harshal cited the example of Kohli fielding at the long-off position during the last five overs, which shows his immense commitment.
Notably, RCB picked up an easy victory thanks to Kohli’s 100 off of only 63 deliveries. As a result, they climbed to the fourth spot on the IPL points table. On May 21 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the three-time finalists will face the reigning champions, the Gujarat Titans, and if they win, they will go to the playoffs once again.
