India has scored a total of 421/7 at the end of Day 2 of the first test between India and England at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The performance of the Indian Bowlers was outstanding in the first inning, as they restricted the opponents to a score of just 246 runs.
Indian Spinners Dominance on Day 1
On the first day of the Hyderabad Test, after winning the toss, the captain of the English side, Ben Stokes decided to bat first. Their decision was quite satisfactory for the side in the initial few overs as both the openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett accumulated a total of 55 runs for the first wicket.
Both the Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3 wickets for the Indian side in a span of just 10 runs and transformed England’s score to 60/3 in 15.1 overs. Both the spinners picked up 3-3 wickets and helped India restrict England below a total of 250 runs in the first innings. Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel also performed well and took 2-2 wickets for the side.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Wonderful Fifty against England
Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the Indian innings with Rohit Sharma and both players made a partnership of 80 runs and provided the side with a decent start. Sharma lost his wicket in the 13th over against Jack Leach after scoring 24 runs in 27 deliveries with a strike rate of 88.89.
Even after the dismissal, Jaiswal kept playing with the same momentum and accumulated a total of 43 runs with Shubman Gill before getting dismissed on the 4th delivery of the 23rd over against Joe Root.
KL Rahul and Jadeja Propel India into a Dominant Position
KL Rahul performed exceptionally well on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG Test and played a brilliant knock of 86 runs in just 123 deliveries, including 8 fours and 2 sixes. He lost his wicket after putting India in a very strong position with a total score of 288/5 in 64.5 overs.
After his wicket, Ravindra Jadeja came to the crease, carried the game in his natural way, and scored 81 runs in 155 deliveries at the end of the day. Axar Patel is also doing well with the bat, and both players have accumulated a total of 63 runs for the 8th wicket.
