The captain of Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy, Mayank Agarwal, while travelling on a Delhi-bound flight, faced an emergency, due to which he was admitted to the hospital under the intensive care unit (ICU) in Agartala and is currently under observation. Agarwal reported a throat issue on the plane and started feeling uneasy, due to which he was immediately taken to the ILS Hospital in the capital of Tripura.

Mayank Agarwal to miss the upcoming game against Railway

The captain of the side, Mayank Agarwal, will not be available for the upcoming game due to his current health situation. According to the reports, he is currently out of danger, but the doctors are continuously observing him.

The health of the player is stable, and state officials are continuously taking updates about his health. Some sources said that he drank some other liquid that looked exactly like water, due to which he fell ill and started feeling uneasy during the journey.

Nikin Jose is the expected captain for the forthcoming contest 

In the absence of Mayank Agarwal, Nikin Jose is expected to be the captain of Karnataka for the upcoming clash, as he’s currently the vice-captain of the side. Nikin Jose holds the record as the youngest player to participate in the Karnataka Premier League.

He started his career in first-class cricket in the year 2022, and his performances have also been impressive on the field. He can also lead the side in a very strategic manner, and hence, in the absence of the captain of the side, Jose will have to take responsibility for the next match against Railway.

Indigo issued a Statement on the Medical Emergency

Indigo Airlines has issued a statement and said that the flight that departed from Agartala for Delhi was returned due to a medical emergency, and the passenger was rushed to the hospital to get medical support as early as possible. After the incident, the aircraft again left the origin for the destination at 16:20 hrs.
