MS Dhoni has been one of the biggest names in the antiquity of Indian cricket and is also one of the finest leaders to have reigned supreme. He has been a part of the IPL circuit ever since the tournament started. A legacy that now spans 16 years for the nation and 15 years for the IPL may be very well in his final season in the domestic extravaganza.
However, the drama about his retirement has been through the roof and the fans believe that he can be very well out of the next year’s league, considering his age and the performances that he has been knitting off late. It is expected that MS Dhoni may call it a day in the final league game of the tournament if they are not making it to the playoffs.
A glance at Dhoni’s 2022 IPL stint
Last season saw him retaking the captaincy from Ravindra Jadeja who had a questionable season with the bat and the ball and Chennai could barely budge under him as the losses kept on manifolding. With so much unfurling around him, Dhoni didn’t have time to process what exactly happened and now that the season goes further, the question of Dhoni hanging his boots, once and for all still looms on the horizon.
Former CSK batter who has had significant contributions towards the game for the Yellow Army had an interesting remark for his former CSK captain, MS Dhoni. Former India opener, Murali Vijay was clear about his assertions and he wanted to shut the fans who questioned Dhoni.
This is what Murali Vijay had to say about Dhoni
He said, “It’s an individual choice. It’s high time people understand what a cricketer is going through. He’s served our country for about 15 years. So we should be giving him space to take that call, rather than putting pressure by asking when he’s going to retire. It’s very harsh for y’all to ask this question. Everybody is asking about MS’ retirement.”
