India’s head coach Rahul Dravid addressed the reporters ahead of the New Zealand clash today. Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer spoke about the unavailability of Hardik Pandya for the crucial clash tomorrow at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala.
Both teams remain unbeaten in the competition and it remains to be seen which team uses their resources properly to come out on top in the significant battle. Former India’s head coach Rahul Dravid echoed that the team will certainly miss the balance while locking horns with New Zealand tomorrow.
Hardik Pandya sustained an injury while bowling against Bangladesh in Pune recently. The all-rounder tried to stop the ball with his right leg when Litton Das hit a straight drive. As it turned out, Hardik Pandya tried to prevent the ball by using his leg but ended up hurting his left ankle in the follow-through.

We will miss the balance: Rahul Dravid on Hardik Pandya’s absence for New Zealand clash
Hardik Pandya was sent for scans and the further results from the doctors are awaited. However, the Indian team is of the opinion that Hardik Pandya’s injury is not a serious one and hopes that he recovers quickly in order to be back in the mix. Dravid added that Hardik Pandya is an important player.
“Hardik is an important player for us. He is obviously missing this game and we will try to work around the 14 and see what’s the best combination. But we will obviously miss the balance we have had in the first four games,” India’s head coach Rahul Dravid told the reporters on Saturday ahead of the New Zealand clash.
Team India started their World Cup 2023 campaign with a win over Australia before getting the better of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively to register four wins in a row. On the other hand, New Zealand beat England, the Netherlands, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to win four games in a row.
