In an interview, he talked about the film and said the film is really inspirational because having such a poor background and achieving something exceptional is literally unimaginable. Sharma appreciated the work of the actor, Vikrant Massey, who played the lead role of Manoj Kumar in the film.

Prior to the movie, a novel named ‘12th Fail’ was written by his closest friend of that time, Anurag Pathak, who provided him with the knowledge of the examination and also took him to Delhi for his UPSC preparation.
The novel was also loved by lakhs of fans, especially the UPSC aspirants who devote their day and night to the preparation of such exams while facing odd circumstances.
