Whenever it is the Indo-Australian affair taking the cricket fans head on, it is nothing short of special as the two juggernauts of the cricketing world lock horns with each other in a fierce exchange of the willow and the leather.
The ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia has already seen the hosts securing a 2-0 lead and with another victory in the series, they can confirm their ticket for the upcoming WTC final in the Oval, later this year.
Speculations about the possible upshot of the series have started deluging and with the cricket experts casting their vote of confidence in India’s favour predominantly, former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly was the latest addition to this list but he had his own style of answering the reporters who iterated the question of what is going to be the outcome of this crucial series.
Talking to Rev Sportz, Sourav Ganguly predicted the margin of the series, adding, “I see 4-0.” The reported laughed. It will be hard for Australia to beat India. In these conditions, we are a far superior team.”
Not only Sourav Ganguly but the list of players siding the result to be predominantly in India’s favour also include the likes of Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and Harsha Bhogle. Considering Australia’s challenges in the ongoing series, they have minced no words whatsoever to underpin India’s dominion and the kind of impact that the Men in Blue have produced. India’s next fixture against Australia is on the 1st of March where the two forces will be squaring off in the Holkar Stadium at Indore. A victory for India would place them in the final of the WTC for a second consecutive time while Australia will be desperate to pull things back.
