Sunil Gavaskar names the team that will lift the ODI World Cup
Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has named the team that will crack the code and defy the odds to win the World Cup title in the upcoming tournament and it’s not India. The veteran Indian cricketer reckons that the defending champions, England will defend the title this time around. He further stated that the England national cricket team have the all-rounders at their disposal who can change the complexion of the game.
“The defending champions because of the type of talent that they have at, at the top of the order, the batting order, they have got 2 or 3 world-class all-rounders who can change the match with both bat and ball. They have also got a very good bowling line-up, which is an experienced bowling line-up, so for now in my book certainly,” stated Sunil Gavaskar.
England cricket team won their maiden ODI World Cup in the previous edition’s final by beating the New Zealand cricket team based on the boundary count rule. Australia are the most successful team in the tournament as they clinched five honours whereas India won two ODI World Cup titles. Sri Lanka and Pakistan won a title apiece.
