On Friday, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, achieved a major milestone as he became the third youngest player to reach 3000 Indian Premier League runs. The left-hander batsman played an amazing knock of 41 runs in 24 balls against the Lucknow SuperGiants, helping his team to a second victory of the season in 2024. With this victory, the runner-up of the 2020 edition of the IPL also climbed to the 9th spot from the bottom of the table.
On the last delivery of the 12th over, Rishabh Pant cracked the milestone as he smashed Marcus Stoinis for a boundary. He displayed an amazing variety of shots, including his scoops over the third man and his fine leg. The captain of the Delhi Capitals was the third youngest player after Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli to get past 30,000 runs.
The list of the top-youngest players to have reached the mark in the history of the IPL is here:

IPL franchise DC registered their second win of the season in 2024.
The bowlers of the Delhi Capitals did well to dismantle the batting line-up of the Lucknow Supergiants at 94 runs with the loss of seven wickets, with impressive bowling from the returning Kuldeep Yadav, who picked up three wickets. However, a courageous effort from youngster Ayush Badoni, who scored 55 runs off 35 deliveries, helped the Super Giants post a competitive target of 167 runs at the loss of seven wickets on the board.
It was then up to the batters of the Delhi Capitals, who didn’t falter in this run-chase. After losing both their openers by 63 runs by the end of the 7th over, Jake Fraser-McGurk, who was making his debut, joined hands with the captain, Rishabh Pant, and notched his maiden half-century in the IPL. Fraser-McGurk’s 55 runs for 35 balls included 5 sixes and 4 fours. Meanwhile, as Rishabh Pant approached his half-century mark at 41, he was stumped by KL Rahul at the delivery of Ravi Bishnoi.
However, the duo had done their part in ensuring that their team would reach the target with ease; they also became the first team to defeat Lucknow by chasing a total of more than 160 runs successfully this year.
