India U19 and USA U19 are facing each other in the 23rd contest of the ongoing ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in Bloemfontein. After winning the toss, the USA U19 invited the Indian side to bat first. The performance of the top-order of the side has been quite impressive, as Arshin Kulkarni played a wonderful knock of 108 runs and provided the side with a very strong foundation for a big total on the board.
Arshin Kulkarni and Musheer Khan steal the Spotlight
Adarsh Singh and Arshin Kulkarni made a partnership of 46 runs for the first wicket, but the first wicket of the side fell when Adarsh was dismissed at the third delivery of the 12th over. Arshin Kulkarni kept playing with the same momentum and made an outstanding partnership of 155 runs with Musheer Khan, and both players transformed the score of the side to 201/2 in 35.1 overs.
Musheer Khan is also the third-leading run scorer of the ongoing season of the tournament, with 194 runs in 3 innings and an excellent batting average of 64.66.
India U19 Aim for Their Third Victory
After winning two consecutive matches, India is now strictly determined to maintain the winning momentum in the upcoming contest against the USA U19 to maintain the top position in Group A’s points table. With 4 points and a current net run rate of +2.850, India is placed in the first spot in the table, followed by Bangladesh U19.
India U19 defeated Bangladesh U19 in their first group-stage contest and emerged victorious against Ireland U19 in the previous match by a huge margin of 201 runs. India U19 will try their best to maintain the same form in the upcoming contests to enhance their chances of winning the knockout contests.
USA U19 to chase 327 runs to secure their first win
With the help of outstanding batting performances from Arshin Kulkarni and Musheer Khan, India U19 has successfully reached a competitive total of 326 runs. Considering the current form of the Indian bowlers and their performances in the recent matches of the tournament, it is not going to be easy for the USA U19 batters to chase a target of more than 300 runs.
However, as per the pitch reports, the surface might favour the batting side in the second inning, which could be a very crucial factor for the USA U19 side.
