Cricket is the only sport that is being expressed in three formats namely Tests, One-Day Internationals and the Twenty20 Internationals. Sachin Tendulkar is the only player who dominated two formats namely Tests and ODIs and notably, he is the leading run-getter in international cricket with 34,357 runs.
Sachin Tendulkar is also the only cricketer to have slammed a total of 100 international centuries (49 centuries in ODIs and 51 centuries in Tests), a fabulous record that still remains intact even today. On the other hand, the other player who is close to breaking Sachin’s ODI century tally is Virat Kohli.
Former Indian captain Virat Kohli recently completed 13,000 runs in the 50-over format and has 47 centuries in this format. He just needs two more centuries to match Sachin’s tally and three more to etch his name into the record books.

Virat Kohli is better than Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs: Usman Khawaja
Meanwhile, Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja reckons Virat Kohli is a better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar scored 18,426 runs at an average of 44.8 in ODIs including 49 centuries, 96 fifties and 1 double century.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli scored 13,239 runs at an average of 57.6 including 47 centuries and 68 fifties. In a video clip shared on Fox Cricket, Khawaja shared his views on comparisons between India’s batting greats, Sachin and Kohli in ODIs.
“I am going to say Virat Kohli is better than Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs. If you look at the stats, he has almost taken over how many hundreds he (Tendulkar) has got, and he has played so many more less games. Sachin was the benchmark for when I grew up, but what Kohli is doing right now and no one has ever done that in the game,” he added.
