Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum's record for the most sixes in Test cricket has been surpassed by England Test skipper Ben Stokes.
In 90 Tests, the southpaw has already scored 109 sixes. On Day 3 of the current first Test against the Kiwis at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Saturday, February 18, Stokes accomplished the feat.
In the 49th over, off Scott Kuggleign, he struck a six over square leg to surpass McCullum,
the current England head coach, who had 107 sixes in his Test career.
Adam Gilchrist, a former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman, is ranked third on the elite list with 100 sixes in 96 Test matches.
On the top five list of hitters with the most sixes in Test matches,
West Indies icon Chris Gayle (98) and former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis (97) are the other two batters.
