Harmanpreet Kaur on following in the footsteps of Rohit Sharma for MI in WPL 2023

Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), has stated that she will want to replicate

the IPL success of the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians men's squad in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023.

Under current Indian men's team captain Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians are the most successful side in the men's IPL, having won the competition five times (in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020).

The five-time IPL champions have expanded their support for women's cricket by owning one of the inaugural WPL's five teams.

Harmanpreet, the most-capped player and leading run-scorer in T20Is for the Indian women's squad, was sold to Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2023 auction for INR 1.80 crore.

In a video posted on their social media sites, the 33-year-old expressed his excitement at being a member of Mumbai Indians.

It's an emotional time for me. I've watched the Mumbai Indians perform admirably on television.

And now I will be a part of it. I believe it's a fantastic accomplishment, and I'm excited to be a part of this team.
