Meg Lanning, according to Parthiv Patel, might keep the Orange Cap for a long time if she continues to be as consistent as she has been in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 thus far.
On Tuesday, March 7, Lanning hit a 42-ball 70 as the Delhi Capitals (DC) set a 212-run target for the UP Warriorz (UPW) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
The DC bowlers then limited Alyssa Healy and company to 169/5, completing a 42-run victory.
During a post-match conversation on Sports18, Parthiv was questioned if Meg Lanning will maintain the Orange Cap for an extended period of time. He responded positively, saying:
Certainly, based on the way she is batting and the way she is carrying herself. Consistency is exceedingly tough in T20s since the format requires players to take risks.
If she continues to be consistent, the Orange Cap will remain on her head for an extended period of time.
The former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman commended the captain of the Delhi Capitals for depending more on time and playing according to the field conditions.
