Punam Raut wants Shafali Verma to bat with the same responsibility for India in the future
as she did for the Delhi Capitals (DC) against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 (RCB)
Sunday, March 5 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, DC's Shafali hammered 84 off 45 balls to give RCB a daunting 224-run goal.
The Delhi Capitals limited Smriti Mandhana and company to 163-8 in their tournament opener, en route to a 60-run victory.
During a conversation on Sports18, Punam Raut was questioned about her opinions on Shafali's dismissal, to which she said, "That was a brilliant shot."
Shafali Verma's batting has improved dramatically. She has played in the previous several World Cups; her batting used to be a bit more showy then
she used to play more in the air, but today she played a lot of strokes down the line. This is what we hope Shafali Verma to do for India in the future.
