Reema Malhotra praised Harmanpreet Kaur for her captain's knock in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 opener between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Gujarat Giants (GG).
Harmanpreet scored 65 runs off only 30 balls as MI achieved a massive total of 207/5 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on March 4 after being assigned to bat first.
Their bowlers then reduced the Gujarat Giants to 64 runs, resulting in a 143-run victory.
Malhotra praised Harmanpreet Kaur during a conversation on JioCinema, stating:
Harmanpreet Kaur used to be a household name, and the knock she played today was pure class. She is a captain who believes that action speaks louder than words.
The former Indian all-rounder emphasized that the Mumbai Indians captain did not play any flashy strokes or attempt to muscle the ball.
The type of shots she executed revealed her skill level. There were no sixes or slogs after stepping out;
only cricketing strokes were hit. She played to her strengths, displaying a variety of strokes and a captain's knock.
