Hayley Matthews' effort in MI's WPL 2023 victory over RCB is praised by Reema Malhotra.

Reema Malhotra praised Hayley Matthews for her game-winning effort in the MI against RCB matchup in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023.

At the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 6, MI knocked out RCB for 155 using Matthews' maiden figures of 3/28 in four overs.

She later hit an unbeaten 77 off only 38 balls to aid her team in chasing down the modest mark with nine wickets and 34 deliveries remaining,

giving them their second straight victory of the competition.

Malhotra had all love for Hayley Matthews when giving the game's recap on Sports18, saying:

I was shocked that a player of this caliber went unsold. Yet, when the Mumbai Indians ultimately chose her, it was a great deal for them.

The former Indian cricketer elaborated on the West Indian all-ability rounder's to play shots all over the field:

She completed the game without losing her wicket. Her choice of shots became better and better. She doesn't simply score runs on the off-side, though.

She is a full package since she scores runs on every part of the field, whether it is when playing the cover drive, flip shot, or against the short ball.
