Asia no.1 Ranked T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav may be asked to lead Team India during the upcoming series against Ireland. Team India is scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20s in the Caribbean from July 27 to August 13, 2023. According to a report in the Times of India, Surya Kmuar could lead team India against Ireland in the absence of Hardik Pandya. He also led Mumbai Indians in the absence of Rohit Sharma against Kolkata Night Riders during IPL 2023. Surya Kumar has served as Hardik Pandya’s deputy during the white ball domestic season in 2023. After the Ireland series on August 23, Team India will travel to Shri Lanka for Asia Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma leads Team India with a group-stage clash against Pakistan on September 2.
Rishabh Pant Aims to Regain Full Fitness in Time for India’s Home Series Against England in 2024,
The BCCI (Board Of Control for Cricket in India) recently released a report of the recovery of injured players like Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna and Rishabh Pant. He made serious progress in his recovery. Pant is currently in NCA (National Cricket Academy) in Bengluru. In the update, the medical team said that Rishabh Pant has started batting practice in nets.
“He has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running,” the update read.
Accoring to a report, the five match home series against England, this is being seen s a good chance for Rishabh Pant to return to International Cricket.
“Perhaps, a realistic target for Pant would be the five-Test home series against England in January-February next year,” the source said.
Jasprit Bumrah is rumored to comeback during the T20 series in Ireland and KL Rahul is being groomed to comeback in upcoming Asia cup 2023.
