The Sunrisers Hyderabad slumped down to another crushing defeat at the hands of the Delhi Capitals and this time the defeat hurt them more than they would have anticipated, particularly after losing out against a team who registered just one win until then.
Mayank Agarwal fought hard with 49 runs in his kitty while Heinrich Klaasen looked pretty good with the bat in his hand as he smashed 31 from just 19 balls, however, those knocks weren’t enough to arrest the consistent decline for both sides.
Here is what Brian Lara had to say about his teammates and their woeful display
Sunrisers’ head coach, Brian Lara was absolutely livid against his batters as the woes simply keep on mounting and he has been at the receiving end of some serious flak. There has been no one to help the cause of the Orange Army.

Lara dished out a hardcore philippic against the batters of his side, stating that there haven’t been any attempts made by the willow-men. Lara said, “There were no devils in the pitch, and we could have been more proactive throughout the innings.”

He further added, “We left everything too late. I prefer if my batters are a bit more enterprising and take advantage in Powerplay. We allowed them to take wickets in the middle and cramp us.”
Brian Lara also talked about the professionalism of the Delhi bowlers and heaped praises on the likes of Ishant Sharma and Anrich Nortje, stating that they have been the finest professionals in the Delhi Capitals unit.
However, he also rued the fact that Sunrisers Hyderabad should have managed to win this tie without any real stutter but then again poor shot selection and a half-hearted show from their batters cost them heavily. With the current state of affairs, if things are not heading in the right direction for Sunrisers Hyderabad then the decline would simply head down south that would be a devastating outcome for the entire side.
