Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer missed out on a well-deserved century by 18 runs during the game against Sri Lanka in the ongoing edition of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The right-handed batsman unleashed his full potential by taking the bowling attack to the cleaners with his fearless batting display at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Coming out to bat at No.4, Shreyas Iyer played the game with a lot of intent as he kept hammering plenty of sixes at will. The Sri Lankan bowlers found it literally tough to keep the ferocious batter in check. He scored a blazing half-century and was en route to scoring a phenomenal century.
As it turned out, he fell prey to Dilshan Madushanka’s slower delivery. The left-arm medium-fast paceman pitched the ball a tad outside the off-stump which tempted Shreyas Iyer to play a big shot. As it turned out, he miscued the shot and ended up hitting the ball high up in the air.

As soon as Shreyas Iyer hit the ball high up in the air, KL Rahul’s wife, Athiya Shetty gave an animated reaction.
