The bromance of Indian youngsters Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill is not a secret to anyone. They are the teammates in Team India who are often seen engaging in funny banter in the dressing room, making social media videos, or cracking jokes at each other on Instagram. Recently, the two were seen sharing a lengthy, lighthearted discussion.
In a public event, Virat Kohli labeled Gill and Ishan as identical twins as he opened up about their friendship.
Kohli said that both Seeta and Geeta (Ishan and Shubhman) are very funny. Even I have no clue what’s going on either. Virat further said that even though he can’t say much, during tours, these guys can’t stay alone. If we go out for food, they will come together. Even during discussions, both of them are always together. I haven’t seen them alone, as they are great friends.”
Seeta Aur Geeta is one of the famous Bollywood films that was released in 1972. The two protagonists are identical twins, portrayed by the Bollywood actress Hema Malini.
All three players are currently in the middle of the 2024 season of the IPL.

Currently, Kohli is the leading run-getter in the tournament, having amassed 319 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 141.77. The run tally consists of a century and two-half centuries. However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the franchise that Kohli represents, stand at the at the bottom of the table with only one victory in the six games they have played till now, with their chances of playoff qualification in doubt.
Gill is in third place on the Orange Cap list with 255 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 151.78, consisting of two half centuries. The Gujarat Titans, the champions of IPL 2022, stand sixth in the points table with three wins and as many losses in the six matches they have played till now.
Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has scored 161 runs in five games for the Mumbai Indians at a strike rate of 182.95 with one fifty. MI stood seventh in the table after bouncing back from a hat-trick of losses to secure back-to-back wins.
With BCCI reportedly set to announce the team by the end of April, all three players also stand in the fray to make the T20 World Cup squad for India. A recent report indicated that Kohli has already booked his place in the 15-member squad for the ICC event, which will be held in June. Meanwhile, Gill is fighting for the opening spot in the line-up, while Ishan entered the race for the wicketkeeping spot, where he is competing with comeback wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson.
