2 Players who scored 1000 runs and took 50 wickets in WTC-compressed

The International Cricket Council (ICC) introduced the World Test Championship in an attempt to preserve Test cricket. Amid the increasing number of franchise T20 leagues, the majority of the fans turned their focus and attention towards the entertaining leagues.

However, the ICC did the right thing by launching the World Test Championship, which is safeguarding the future of Test cricket. The first two cycles of the WTC have been completed. In these two editions, plenty of players made a name for themselves with superb performances.

However, only two players have managed to score more than 1000 runs and took more than 50 wickets in the World Test Championship. Let’s learn more about them now.

1. Ben Stokes

England Test captain Ben Stokes has been a spectacular performer for the country as far as the Test format is concerned. The all-rounder is one of the two players who has accomplished the feat of scoring more than 1000 runs and taking more than 50 wickets in the World Test Championship.

It is worth mentioning here that the experienced campaigner has scored 2349 runs at an average of 38.50 including six centuries and 12 half-centuries. On the other side of the coin, Ben Stokes has taken a total of 66 wickets to his credit, including 3 four-wicket hauls.

2. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders in the world right now. He is known for his potential to act as a three-dimensional player – who can bowl, bat and field well. Having him in the starting XI is an added advantage as he can try his maximum best to contribute to the team.

Notably, he is the other player who scored more than 1000 runs and took more than 50 wickets in the World Test Championship. The prolific all-rounder has chipped in with 1221 runs in 24 Tests including 2 centuries and eight half-centuries. On the other end of the spectrum, he has taken as many as 76 wickets including 5 four-wicket hauls, 3 five-wicket hauls and 1 ten-wicket haul.
