This goes to show the success of T20 cricket. (international and domestic). Case in point, taking 500 wickets in T20 cricket is considered a phenomenal achievement and not many bowlers have been able to unlock this feat.
So far in the history of T20 cricket (international and franchise), only three bowlers have managed to take more than 500 wickets in the truncated version of the game. Let’s go through those names below.
1. Dwayne Bravo
Dwayne Bravo is one of the most experienced cricketers in the history of T20s. West Indies cricket team immensely benefitted from his services during the playing days of his international career. Besides that, he has played for various T20 cricket leagues across the world and became a fan-favourite to many.
The former West Indies cricketer is the leading wicket-taker in T20 history. He has bagged 619 wickets in 562 matches at a bowling average of 24.15 including 11 four-wicket hauls and 2 five-wicket hauls.
2. Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan has been one of the best-performing players in T20 cricket. He is one of the players who quickly rose through the ranks and established himself as one of the best players in the shortest format of the game.
The Afghanistan international is the other player who completed 500 wickets in T20 cricket. With a rainbow of variations in his bowling arsenal, the right-arm leg-break bowler has bagged 556 wickets in 410 matches including 11 four-wicket hauls and 2 five-wicket hauls.
3. Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine is best known for his terrific skills as a spin bowler and his valuable contributions to various domestic T20 leagues. He is one of the three bowlers who has completed 500 wickets in T20 cricket. Sunil Narine has taken as many as 525 wickets in 482 appearances at an average of 21.27 including 12 four-wicket hauls and 1 five-wicket haul.
