Notably, he aggregated as many as 1532 runs at a remarkable average of 57, the most by a wicketkeeper in the history of the ICC ODI World Cup tournament. Besides that, he is also the third-leading run-scorer in the ODI World Cup history.
Kumar Sangakkara has been one of the best batters during the playing days of his career. The former Sri Lankan captain scored 14,234 runs at an average of 41.99 including 25 centuries and 93 fifties.

2. Adam Gilchrist
Former Australian wicketkeeper batter Adam Gilchrist was one of the integral players of Australian cricket history. Australia immensely benefitted from Adam Gilchrist’s services as a wicketkeeper and batsman. He is the other one who has completed 1000 runs as a wicketkeeper in ICC ODI World Cup history.
Adam Gilchrist scored 1085 runs at an average of 36 in the ICC ODI World Cup. Australia are also one of the most successful team as they have lifted the accolade five times, which is more than any other team in ICC ODI World Cup history.
Adam Gilchrist scored 9619 runs in 287 ODIs at an average of 35.9 including 16 centuries and 55 fifties.
