The sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League has witnessed epic battles among the teams. After several days of power-packed action, out of the ten teams, four teams deservedly made it to the IPL 2023 playoffs.
They are none other than Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians. GT and CSK finished first and second on the points table and these two teams will lock horns with each other in the Qualifier 1.
The epic high-voltage clash between these two teams will kick off tonight at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. We can expect a healthy contest between these two top teams. Let’s take a glimpse at the 3 player battles to watch out for in Qualifier 1.
1. Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Rashid Khan
Chepauk’s wicket is well and truly a batting wicket but at the same time, the pitch is expected to get slower as the game progresses. It is quite obvious that the spinners will inflict damage on the batting unit.
Meanwhile, the battle between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rashid Khan is one to watch out for. For the record, Gaikwad scored 66 runs off 45 balls from Rashid Khan in the shortest format, which goes to show how comfortable he was while facing the Afghanistan stalwart.

3. David Miller vs Matheesha Pathirana
David Miller has always been the danger man for Gujarat Titans as far as the middle order is concerned. He showed incredible resistance with his fearless batting approach. It will be such an eye-catching contest when Miller and Matheesha Pathirana lock horns with each other.
David Miller who is one of the top finishers struggled against Matheesha Pathirana. The veteran cricketer scored 3 runs off eight deliveries against Pathirana. Popularly known as Baby Malinga due to his sling action, he can bowl yorkers and slower balls to deceive the batsmen.
