A captain is someone who is solely responsible for the results of the team. First of all, he needs to have a plan while facing an opponent. Without a plan, any captain would crumble and obviously, it affects the performance of the team too.
More importantly, the captain needs to have a proper strategy while playing in the IPL final. At times, some captains did go through a bad day at the office during the IPL Final. Let’s take a look at the three players who were dismissed for a duck in the IPL finals as captain.
1. Adam Gilchrist
Adam Gilchrist played a substantial role as a captain for Deccan Chargers (now-defunct franchise) in the IPL 2009 season. Under his captaincy, Deccan Chargers beat Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final to win the maiden IPL title.
Although Adam Gilchrist thrived as a captain, he failed to lead the batting attack by example. He was dismissed for a bronze duck in the final against RCB. Adam Gilchrist was clean-bowled by Anil Kumble.
