Virat Kohli earned the tag of the most successful captain in Test cricket. Virat Kohli made his Test debut in 2011 and since then, he has always given absolutely everything. Notably, he was adjudged the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year (2018) and has achieved unique records in Test cricket.

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer for Team India in Test cricket among the active players. The right-handed batter has scored 8479 runs at an average of 48.7 including 28 centuries and 28 half-centuries. It is worth noting that he has scored 7 double centuries, the most by an Indian in Test cricket.

2. Most Test wins by Asian captain

Virat Kohli has been a spectacular captain for Team India in the longest format. Under his tutelage, Team India have won as many as 40 matches, the most by an Asian captain, which is indeed an exceptional record.

3. Most Away Test wins by an Indian captain

The senior Indian cricketer has achieved another feat during his captaincy stint. Under his captaincy, Team India have won the most away Tests (16 wins), the most by an Indian captain in the history of Test cricket.
