1. Rohit Sharma
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is widely acknowledged as the greatest opening batsman across all three formats. Team India largely benefitted from his services in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
Rohit Sharma has hit a total of 16 overseas centuries as an opener, which is the joint-most by an Asian opener. The experienced campaigner has scored 10 centuries in Tests, 30 centuries in One-Day Internationals and 4 centuries in Twenty20 Internationals.

2. Sanath Jayasuriya
Sanath Jayasuriya is widely recognized as one of the greatest opening batters of all time. He operated as an attacking opening batter and a slow left-arm orthodox spinner.
Sri Lanka benefitted from his all-round services. Just like Rohit Sharma, Sanath Jayasuriya has also scored 16 overseas centuries. Overall, he scored 14 centuries in Tests and 28 centuries in One-Day Internationals.
3. Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar has been one of the greatest batsmen in the history of Indian cricket. India’s batting great achieved a plethora of records as an opener when he was playing for India.
Tagged as one of the greatest openers of all time, Gavaskar has hit as many as 15 overseas centuries. Overall, he scored 34 centuries in Tests and a solitary century in One-Day Internationals.
4. Saeed Anwar
Former Pakistan’s opening batsman Saeed Anwar has smacked a total of 12 overseas centuries, which is the most by any opener in the history of Pakistani cricket and the fourth-most by an Asian opener.
Overall, he scored 11 centuries in Tests and 20 centuries in One-Day Internationals.
