Australia and England have produced scintillating and mind-blowing encounters in the history of the Ashes competition. Both the Titans lived up to their reputation and took turns to outsmart the other. Australia have won the Ashes a record 34 times so far in their history whereas England have won the Ashes 32 times.

Scoring a century in the Ashes is the real deal because it is definitely not as easy as it sounds. However, the batters who possessed grit, determination, patience and mental resilience in the key phases braved the challenges and scored a century for the team.

1. Sir Don Bradman

Sir Don Bradman is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He has the best batting average of 99.9 in Test cricket, more than any other batsman in history. He comes first on the list as he scored 19 centuries against England in the Ashes.

John Berry Hobbs was one of the prolific batters during the playing days of his career. The former England cricketer comes next on the list as he has scored a total of 12 centuries against Australia in the Ashes.

3. Steve Smith

Australia’s current best batsman Steve Smith smashed a total of 12 hundreds against England in the Ashes. He has been the most consistent performer for Australia in the longest format of the game. Smith recently completed 9000 runs in red-ball cricket and is expected to score more runs in the games to come.

4. Steve Waugh

Former Australian skipper Steve Waugh is widely regarded as one of the greatest batters of all time. He comes next on the list as he scored a total of 10 centuries against England in the Ashes.
