Accumulating 10,000 runs in cricket is rated as an important achievement and a massive milestone for a batter. To garner 10,000 runs, a batter needs to consistently perform at the highest level over a long period of time. If it is not for a batsman’s skill, consistency, and longevity, then it is literally not possible to score a truckload of runs.
However, there are only seven batsmen who achieved the feat in both Tests and ODIs. All of them have retired from the sport. Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and Brian Lara accomplished the extraordinary feat of reaching 10,000 runs in both formats.
These legends are celebrated for their contributions to the sport and their exceptional batting achievements. All the aforementioned names were able to perform according to the situation and hence managed to unlock the sensational feat. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are the only two Indians who entered the elite club of scoring 10,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs.
