The upcoming edition of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 is just a few days away from the kick-off as New Zealand will lock horns with England in the tournament opener at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The finals of the mega event will be held at the same venue on November 19.
As many as 10 teams will be taking part in the tournament namely India, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Netherlands. West Indies failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup for the first time in their cricketing journey.

1. Virat Kohli
Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has scored a total of 47 centuries in ODI cricket. Out of that, he scored 37 of the centuries against World Cup 2023 teams. On the other hand, he scored 1030 runs at an average of 46.81 including 2 centuries and 6 fifties in ODI World Cups.

2. Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar scored as many as 49 centuries in ODIs and out of that, he scored 35 centuries against World Cup 2023 teams. Notably, he is the leading run-scorer in ODI World Cup history with 2278 runs at an average of 56.95 including 6 centuries and 15 fifties.
3. Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma can take pride in the fact that he is the only cricketer to have scored five centuries in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. The Indian captain scored 30 ODI centuries and out of that, he scored 26 centuries against World Cup 2023 teams.
4. Sanath Jayasuriya
Sanath Jayasuriya scored 28 centuries in ODI cricket and the former Sri Lankan international scored 26 centuries against World Cup 2023 teams. Overall, he scored 1165 runs at an average of 34.26 including 3 centuries and 6 centuries in ODI World Cups.
5. Ricky Ponting
Ricky Ponting scored as many as 30 centuries in the 50-over format and out of that, he scored 25 centuries against World Cup 2023 teams. Overall, he mustered 1743 runs at an average of 45.86 in ODI World Cup history including 5 centuries and 6 fifties.
