David Warner has so far had a decent IPL but gone are the days when the Australian batter would eat the bowlers for breakfast with his imperious knocks that landed him three Orange Caps. He was a fine striker of the ball and the kind of striking that he would bring to the fore would make him a perfect pick for any IPL side.
Unfortunately, for the Australian opener, IPL has everything but kind in the last couple of seasons and as things go by, his residence in the tournament simply turn into a nightmare with one bad team to the other. Earlier he was a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, where it all started for the hard-hitting phenomenon but then towards the end, things started falling apart.
Here is how things currently stand for David Warner
Then he arrived at Delhi and after somewhat of a mediocre season, he was handed over the captaincy of the side in the absence of Rishabh Pant who met a life-threatening accident a couple iof months ahead of the IPL. Since then Warner has been in decent touch with the bat but the kind of bling you would associate your T20 captain with, that is absolutely not happening with the former Australian skipper.

David Warner is currently second in the run-scoring charts as he has hammered 209 runs from 4 games in the tournament where he is just 16 runs away from Punjab skipper, Shikhar Dhawan who has managed to amass 225 runs in the tournament so far. However, the man is currently in action against the reigning champions, Gujarat Giants.
This is where the problem begins for the three-time Orange Cap winner
Despite the free flow of runs, it is the strike rate of Warner that has left the fans in a lot of woe as it currently reads a paltry 114.83, somewhat of a shock to any T20 fan for whom any number less than that of 130 in the strike rate column unless you are a proven match-winner doesn’t sit well at all.
Shaun Tait had an observation about Warner and he said, “You can quite clearly see on his face and his reactions after shots or missed shots, that he’s pretty frustrated as well. The only reason that’s acceptable is because other guys around him have been pretty poor as well. Because he’s such a great player, he manages to score and lead the runs.”
