“Two main players not scoring runs is obviously a problem”, Akash Chopra blasts Rajasthan Royals’ top-order

“Two main players not scoring runs is obviously a problem”, Akash Chopra blasts Rajasthan Royals’ top-order-compressed

Rajasthan Royals had a rare defeat in their latest fixture against the Mumbai Indians who would chase down a humongous total with three balls to spare, exposing the skeleton of the RR bowling. Batting first the Royals rode high on the heroics of an unheralded Yashasvi Jaiswal who would go onto smash 124 runs from just 62 balls, smacking 16 fours and 8 sixes.

However, barring Jaiswal, not even a single name in the RR shed could cross the score of 20 with three names getting into double figures. Jos Buttler scored 18 of 19, Sanju Samson fired 14 off 10 while Jason Holder could only pile 11 from 9 balls. Despite such a questionable showdown, Jaiswal’s charge was more than enough to paper over the cracks of the RR batting unit and make the fans believe that they can win this game comfortably.

Here is how Rajasthan Royals slumped down to Mumbai Indians

Unfortunately for the Royals, it was going to be a tragic end to things as Mumbai Indians came alive in the boldest of fashions, condemning the RR bowling unit to the ropes way too frequently. Rohit Sharma couldn’t get off the block as he fell for 3 from 5 balls with Sandeep Sharma claiming the Hitman. However, that would do very little to dispel the fears of Rajasthan Royals that came in spades through a composed Ishan Kishan followed by Cameron Green.

Green and Suryakumar Yadav were in impeccable touch helping Mumbai Indians fight back in the best possible manner. Against an experienced Rajasthan bowling line-up, if the knocks by Green and SKY were just the tip of the iceberg, it was a reckoning display by Tim David who would blast a 14-ball-45 smashing 2 fours and 5 sixes and Tilak Varma’s anchoring 29 from just 21 balls that would shatter the ceiling with a crescendo of humongous proportions.

This is what Akash Chopra had to say about Sanju Samson

Rajasthan has now been under some serious fire with two of their big names, Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler failing to score. Akash Chopra, former Indian cricketer, shared his two-penny about the entire unfurling, as he said, “Rajasthan is facing another trouble. Jos Buttler is not firing, as he usually does, this year. The start was very good but he has gone slightly down. Sanju Samson hasn’t scored runs at all. So as good a team as they are, because they have (Shimron) Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal as well, the team is good, but two main players not scoring runs, that’s a problem.”
