Team India and Pakistan will face each other for the first time in this year during the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The tournament will be conducted in ODI format this time around. Pakistan is the official host of the upcoming edition of Asia Cup 2023. But due to India’s refusal to travel to the country. PCB has planned with Sri Lanka to host some matches.

They faced off in Asia Cup for the first time in 1984, where Team India won by 54 runs. They have faced off approx 15 times since. Across 16 matches played in the Asia Cup, India has won emphatic 9 times, while Pakistan won only 6 matches. One game ended without a result.
13 of these were ODI’S and three matches in (2016 and 2020) were in the T20 format. India has won 7 matches out of 13 games. In 2012 India achieved an adventure in Mirpur during their successful chase of 330/4 runs. Virat Kohli chased the tough target with his career-best ODI score of 183(148). It is also the highest individual score in the history of the Asia Cup.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma is currently top in the scoring chart for Indians in Asia Cup ODIs with 745 runs including six half-century and one century between 2008 and 2018. He has scored these runs at an average of 46.55.
Virat Kohli made 613 runs in 11 matches at an average of 61.30 including three centuries and one half-century. All the other batsmen in the current Indian ODI players are yet to play in the subcontinental tournament.
