2 Current Indian Players who scored the Most Test Centuries in West Indies-compressed

Team India’s performance with regard to Test cricket has been nothing short of spectacular. Ever since the ICC introduced the World Test Championship, they have been performing consistently well for a long time now. However, they lacked the killer instinct to win the title.

In the first edition, they made it all the way to the final but lost to New Zealand. On the other hand, India made it to the second consecutive final but surrendered at the hands of the Australian cricket team.

Case in point, India will embark on the third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship as they will lock horns with the West Indies national cricket team. In this article, let’s learn about the names of two Indian players of the current era who scored the most centuries in the West Indies.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin

India’s bowling all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin loves batting against the West Indies and his statistics against the Caribbean nation serve as a testament to this fact. He is one of the two Indian players of the current era who scored two centuries in the West Indies.

On top of that, Ravichandran Ashwin possesses the highest batting average against West Indies too. Having played 11 Tests in the Caribbean islands, he managed to garner 552 runs at a staggering batting average of 50.18 including four centuries. Ravichandran Ashwin scored 235 runs in four games at an average of 58.75 including 2 centuries.

Ajinkya Rahane also possesses the highest batting average of 90.71 against the West Indies than any other opposition. He scored 635 runs against the Caribbeans and smashed two centuries and four half-centuries. On the other hand, he scored 514 runs in the West Indies at an average of 102.80 (2 centuries and 3 fifties).
