Indians have often performed superbly well across formats, which makes them truly special cricketers. When it comes to T20Is, Indian batsmen have showcased their potential to accelerate the scoreboard with a fearless brand of cricket. Indian batters have shown maturity by playing according to the situation in T20Is.

Earlier, the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir used to entertain the fans in the T20I format. After their era, the existing players including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav and Shikhar Dhawan have ensured to dictate the terms, courtesy of their aggressive strokeplay.

So far, in the history of Indian cricket, only 2 Indians have managed to complete 3000 or more runs in Twenty20 Internationals. Notably, they are also the top two run-scorers in T20Is. Let’s learn about these two players below.

1. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world across formats in the current era. His impeccable consistency is what sets him apart from most other batsmen of this era. India’s run machine is the leading run-scorer in the history of Twenty20 Internationals with 4008 runs in 115 matches.

He has a strike rate of 137.96 in T20Is. Moreover, he maintained an exceptional batting average of 52.73 including 1 century and 37 half-centuries. He will be a key player for India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

He is also the only batsman to score 4 centuries in Twenty20 Internationals. He is best known for his potential to smack sixes with relative ease. Rohit Sharma has a great opportunity to become the second player after Virat Kohli to complete 4000 runs in T20Is in the near future.
