2 Players who slammed nine Test centuries against Team India-compressed

Team India have always been a competitive side in international cricket. Notably, they have perfected the art of winning games across all three formats of the game, which is precisely the reason why they are one of the consistent teams.

Scoring runs against them has been a challenging task for the opposition teams, especially in Test cricket. It is well known that the red ball tends to swing quite a lot when compared to the white ball. As a result, the batters find it a bit more challenging.

Indian bowlers did ruffle the opposition batsmen’s feathers quite consistently. Despite all that, some batters went on to defy the odds and came out on top much to India’s annoyance. Among the active players, two batters literally gave nightmares to India in Test cricket.

Now, let’s learn about the names of the two players who hit nine centuries against India in the longest format of the game.

1. Joe Root

Former England Test captain Joe Root is the leading run-scorer among the active players in the longest format of the game. The England international has represented the national cricket team in 130 Tests so far in his career.

The 32-year-old scored 11004 runs at an exceptional batting average of 50.2 including 29 centuries, 58 half-centuries and 5 double centuries. The veteran cricketer is one of the two batters who smacked as many as nine Test centuries against Team India.

The right-handed batsman has played 97 Tests for Australia wherein he essayed 8913 runs at a mind-boggling batting average of 60.22. Notably, he slammed 31 centuries, 37 fifties and 4 double centuries in Tests. He became the second batter to hit 9 Test tons against India.
