3 Indian Bowlers who took Most Wickets by shattering Batsmen's Stumps in Tests-compressed

If a batsman misses the ball completely and then it goes on to hit the stumps directly from the bowler’s delivery, then it is ‘clean bowled’. Initially, the batter tends to middle the ball off the bowler but in case he misses the ball completely, he pays the price.

This is precisely the reason why the batters need to read the line and length properly. India have produced top-tier bowlers who have weaved the magic with the ball in clutch moments. Case in point, let us now go through the names of three Indians who registered the most bowled wickets in Test history.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin

India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently etched his name into the record books after he broke Anil Kumble’s record of most bowled wickets in the history of Test cricket.

Ravichandran Ashwin currently has 95 bowled wickets in Test history. Having played 93 Tests so far, Ravi Ashwin has bagged as many as 479 wickets including 33 fifers and 7 ten-wicket hauls.

2. Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest bowlers of all time and India’s greatest spinner. He is the leading wicket-taker for India in Test cricket with 619 wickets.

Anil Kumble comes second on the list with 94 bowled wickets for India in Test history. Anil Kumble has taken as many as 35 five-wicket hauls and 8 ten-wicket hauls.

3. Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev is widely recognized as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. Under his captaincy, Team India won the historic ODI World Cup in 1983. India’s greatest ever all-rounder and greatest paceman comes third on the list as he has taken as many as 88 bowled wickets for India in Test history.

Having played 131 Tests for India, he has taken as many as 434 wickets including 23 five-wicket hauls and 2 ten-wicket hauls. He scored 5248 runs at an average of 31.1 including 8 centuries and 27 half-centuries.
